Brother Ron presided on the top deck of Excalibur at the
North Cove Yacht Club with a backdrop of the Winter Garden at the World
Financial Center. He's not really a Brother, he just plays one on TV. So
what do you think? Brother Ron, Visionary or Political Candidate?
At ceremony's end, we set sail for the evening, cruising the Hudson
and East Rivers and the Statue of Liberty.
Nina dazzled us by wearing four dresses throughout the evening. Two
of the favorites were a red kepow (pronounced gee-pow) traditional Chinese
dress and a blue number, in addition to her ivory wedding dress, and a
white gown). Thank you Aunt Sue for hand making two of them.
The bridesmaids looked gorgeous wearing matching gold kepows handmade
by Mrs. Dao Tran's cousin.
Eating, dancing, drinking, and conversation ensued while the Excalibur
cruised.
Toasts were raised by the best man (heartfelt), the maid of honor (funny
story about skirt height dwindling to capture the groom's eye), the bride's
father (in Thai), and the groom to his bride (what more is there to say?
I love you.).
After returning to dock, the night owls went to Windows on the World
at 2 World Trade Center for cocktails and more celebration.
Guests stayed all over downtown Manhattan. The couple and others were
ensconced at the Millennium Hilton.
That made the Rehearsal dinner, the wedding, and the hotel a cross-town
affair (east to South Street Seaport, west to World Financial Center, and
stop in the middle at Church Street and the corner of Fulton).
